Name
Scaling Coordinated Specialty Care for First-episode Psychosis
Description

Timely, evidence-based care for first-episode psychosis (FEP) can significantly improve outcomes, yet only 10-25% of individuals in need receive care today. This session will explore how expanding access to Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) to 90% of individuals in need could not only improve lives, but also generate significant economic returns. We will share insights from a national impact model on scaling CSC access, discuss frontline experiences on patient access and care, examine key system and policy barriers, and learn from leaders in the field on what's needed to expand care.

The national model and resulting insights can be found in a whitepaper published on NAMI's website: https://nami.org/FEPCare. This whitepaper is the result of collaboration between several organizations - National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD), McKinsey Health Institute (MHI), and National Council for Mental Wellbeing (NCMW).
