Why is there both an in-person and online version of NAMICon?

We’re thrilled to be convening in person again for the first time since 2019! We also feel it’s important to host an equally strong event online for those who can’t make it to Minneapolis but want to join this mental health movement. Each portion of NAMICon will have exclusive sessions to make the experience special.

What hotel is NAMI using for the convention? What are the hotel rates?

The Hilton Minneapolis is the convention headquarters hotel. Registered attendees can book a room at a special rate of $199 (plus state and local tax).

What are your COVID protocols for the in-person portion of the conference?

NAMICon 2023 is proceeding as an in-person and online event with the expectation that all individuals participating in-person do their part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Proof of COVID vaccination and appropriate boosters, or a negative test within 24 hours of arrival is required for all participants. If you are exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms, have knowingly been exposed to COVID-19, or have received a positive test within 10 days of the start of the conference, please stay home and attend virtually. You may visit the CDC website for more information. Please visit the NAMICon website for additional information and updates.

What steps is NAMI taking to ensure this is a safe, accessible, and equitable experience?

NAMICon is an inclusive community for all experiences and perspectives, including all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, religious practices, socioeconomic statuses, and any other demographic. We invite everyone attending to be their authentic self.

Diverse perspectives and lived experience guide our programming and our work. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive conference experience that reflects those values.

NAMI is committed to making the in-person convention accessible to all individuals. If you are staying at the Hilton Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Convention Center is 3 blocks (10 minutes) away and also accessible via indoor Skyways. If you have a disability, as identified by the Americans with Disabilities Act, please indicate your requirements in the registration form.

Getting Involved

Will I get much out of the convention if I am not affiliated with NAMI?

If you have a story to share and a passion for mental health, we have a spot with your name on it at NAMICon. Professional experience or a previous connection with NAMI are not necessary to participate in and appreciate NAMICon.

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization working on behalf of individuals with lived experience and caregivers. Whether or not you are a member of NAMI, you will benefit from the information offered during the event, as well as the chance to network with some of the most knowledgeable mental health advocates in the nation.

Are there scholarships available?

NAMI hopes to offer scholarships that would cover partial or full costs to attend the convention, but we cannot guarantee them at this time. Any information regarding scholarships will be posted to News page. Please check back for updates.
