Description

Silence remains one of the greatest barriers to mental health awareness, suicide prevention and healing. “Be a Voice” explores how awareness, storytelling and advocacy can break stigma and create pathways to hope and support. Drawing on lived experience and community advocacy, this session invites participants to reflect on how silence rooted in fear, shame, culture or misunderstanding can deepen suffering. Participants will learn how awareness begins with recognizing signs of distress and understanding mental health beyond stereotypes, then expands into families, communities, workplaces and faith or social spaces.

Through guided reflection and practical examples, attendees will explore how everyday conversations can challenge stigma and support people who may be struggling. This session encourages participants to lead with compassion, listen with intention and use their voices to promote connection, understanding and mental well-being.
