LGBTQ+ youth face high levels of stigma, discrimination and suicide risk, making supportive conversations more important than ever. This session explores how personal storytelling can break stigma, build empathy and help audiences connect with the real experiences of LGBTQ+ young people.
Participants will learn how to shape and share their own stories to create meaningful conversations about mental health and acceptance. The session will cover practical storytelling techniques, values-based messaging and strategies for connecting with audiences in both public and personal settings.
Attendees will also learn about the latest research on suicide risk and protective factors for LGBTQ+ youth, including the role of supportive adults and affirming environments. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a clear framework for sharing their stories to reduce stigma and support LGBTQ+ youth in their communities.
