The passage of H.R. 1, often referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” signals significant federal policy shifts with implications for people with mental health conditions and mental health systems across the country.
While federal changes establish the framework, states play a critical role in interpreting and implementing policy. This session examines how states are preparing for upcoming changes related to H.R. 1, with a focus on Medicaid policy, financing, workforce considerations and service delivery.
Participants will hear from NAMI National staff and NAMI state leaders about emerging strategies, early planning efforts and challenges. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how federal policy translates into state-level action and what advocates should watch for as changes unfold.
