Born and raised in Oklahoma, Jason has lived much of his life committed to making his community better and safer. As an undergraduate, he taught Civics to middle and high school students in the OKC area as a Democracy Coach with Generation Citizen, worked as a volunteer and paid staff on local and state candidates for public office, and served as an intern in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in May 2023, and started working as Public Policy Coordinator for NAMI Oklahoma that August. He developed a passion for research-based advocacy during his time in college and uses his ties to those close to him who have struggled with mental health, as well as his struggles, to push himself even harder to find the right solutions for all who struggle with their mental health.

He lives by the quote he has tattooed on his wrist, “Your story does not end here;” with the semicolon signifying that there is more to see and do during the passage of our lives, even if we cannot see those things ourselves.
