Janise Kaufman-Young is licensed in Ohio. She is an Ohio Valley native who continued her education at Jefferson Community College and earned her Associate of Arts/Certificate in Early Childhood Development (1998). Janise furthered her education at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2000) and a Master of Arts in Counseling (2005). After a sabbatical from the field and education, Janise received a Certificate in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services from Capella University (2023). She has also completed a Certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University (2024). She is working on her PhD in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at Capella University. She specializes in working with children and families. She uses play, group, individual, and family sessions to help clients achieve their goals as a therapist at Ohio Valley Counseling LLC. She has a passion for educating professionals and faith-based organizations about mental health. Janise enjoys volunteering with local agencies to advocate and educate about mental health. She spends her leisure time with her husband, children, extended family, and friends.
