Survivor, Leader, Entrepreneur, Advocate, Educator, and Mother are some of the roles Dr. Twanna House has as she pursues her passion and purpose to make a difference in the community and the world. She says that her purpose is to “bridge the gap between the church and mental health community to further ministry to the whole person, not just in part.” She is a survivor of severe depression after a 30-year battle. She has earned a Doctorate in Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy University. She is the Director of Programs of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Emerald Coast covering the Northwest Florida panhandle. During her leadership tenure, NAMI Emerald Coast recently was awarded the 2025 Volunteer Affiliate of the Year award by NAMI Florida.
She is also the Founder/CEO of Beacon of Hope Champions Ministries, LLC, an organization devoted to creating awareness about emotional and mental wellness being essential to spiritual growth, providing education to properly equip Pastors, leaders, and caring citizens in ministering to congregants dealing with mental health issues, advocacy for people who are not able to access the treatment for mental illness, and to provide a safe space for support for people without judgement. She is also Board Certified Professional Mental Health Coach working with clients to establish health and wellness plans to support their current clinical treatment and ongoing healing journey.
