Dr. Alfiee Breland-Noble (aka Dr. Alfiee) is a pioneering psychologist, scientist, author, on-air expert, and founder of the nonprofit The AAKOMA Project. She served as Inaugural Chief Mental Wealth Officer/Senior Advisor for Charlamagne tha God’s Mental Wealth Alliance and is one of Melinda French Gates’s Global Leaders, advancing the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls worldwide through the 20-million-dollar MATTIE Fund, part of Melinda’s 1-billion-dollar philanthropic initiative.

A leading voice on mental health and suicide prevention for intersectional Youth and Young Adults of Color (including LGBTQAI+ youth and those with disabilities), she also educates the public on culturally relevant burnout prevention, mindfulness, and gratitude. She envisioned The AAKOMA Project in 1999 as an academic medicine
research lab (Duke and Georgetown), and in 2018 transitioned it into the thriving, woman-of-color–led mental health nonprofit it is today. A trusted media expert, she contributes to The Grio, Today Show, and The Breakfast Club, co-hosts Audacy’s I’m Listening with Carson Daly and Katie Neal, and appeared in the Born This Way
Foundation’s World Kindness Day film The Power of Kindness with Lady Gaga.

An author/co-author of four books—two academic textbooks - The Handbook of Mental Health in African American Youth; Community Mental Health Engagement with Racially Diverse Populations and two consumer books - I Want to See You Shining: The Guide, co-authored with Grammy-winning producer Mark “King” Batson,
and the soon-to-be-released Rise and Thrive: A mental health workbook for youth and the young at heart—Dr. Alfiee is known for capturing audiences and inspiring them with her belief that there is enough love and light, informed by culturally relevant science, to help everyone achieve #optimalmentalhealth.
