Rev./Dr. Sherrie Vaughn, Ed.D., NAMI Kansas Executive Director: Prior to her service with NAMI Kansas, she served at the Kansas City Rescue Mission, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Inc., and Mid-America Nazarene University. She has over 30 years of leadership experience in non-profit, higher education, services, and ministry. Sherrie has an Educational Leadership Doctorate from Baker University as well as an Adult Ministries Diploma from the Nazarene Theological Seminary. Sherrie is a farm-kid at heart, who grew up in rural Missouri. Sherrie is a mom of a now 28-year-old daughter who lives with severe mental illness, and whose first episode of psychosis was at age 12. NAMI and the needs of our rural communities are near and dear to Sherrie’s heart because of her journey with her daughter, the days of her youth growing up in rural Missouri, and the journeys of those she has served over the past 30 years.
