John Johnson is a Queens native with more than 30 years in youth development. From teaching Special Education in every Borough of New York, to being the Youth Liaison for Queens Borough President, the Honorable Helen Marshal, his career took him to Atlanta Ga. working as Director of the Student Center at the prestigious Morehouse College. John also accepted a position with the Democratic National Committee as advance person for the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Bill Clinton during his first run for the presidency. His work with NAMI Queens/Nassau afforded him the Community Leadership Award in 2024 and also the New York State Multicultural Award.
