Melissa Duncan
Speaker Bio
Reverend Melissa Duncan works at the intersections of faith, spirituality, and mental health, motivated by a desire to see flourishing in individuals and communities. As a pastor and chaplain, she has built networks of care for children experiencing trauma and family disruption, equipped churches for trauma-informed ministry, and helped congregations cultivate safer spaces of welcome and belonging.
Melissa has been deeply formed by years of wrestling with faith, belonging, and purpose across cultural and religious divides. Whether providing health education in nomadic communities in the Sahara, studying theology alongside incarcerated classmates, or living in community with immigrant and refugee neighbors, she seeks to engage with curiosity and compassion, listening for the complexity in people’s stories.
In her spare time, Melissa serves on the Winfield Township Mental Health 708 Board and loves playing volleyball, watching movies, and spending time with her husband and three children.
