Julie Gerding is a tenacious litigator concentrating in a variety of legal arenas, including contract disputes, employment law, negligence claims, real estate, and probate. She is also a guardian ad litem for disabled persons and a former CASA. Prior to entering the realm of civil litigation, Julie was an Assistant State’s Attorney for six years, investigating and prosecuting serious financial crimes, domestic violence, DUI, and other traffic and misdemeanor offenses. She interned with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic as well.
Through NAMI DuPage, Julie volunteers as a Family-to-Family facilitator, family support group facilitator, and Family and Friends facilitator. Julie is trained as a Family Partnership Professional and Recovery Support Specialist with NAMI and facilitates NAMI’s Specialty Courts Group for individuals participating in DuPage County’s MICAP program. Julie is a staunch advocate for several other charitable organizations, including Special Olympics Illinois, the National MS Society, and Felines & Canines.
