Elizabeth Shulak is a native Houstonian, diagnosed with mental illness as a freshman in college. She was fortunate to learn about mood disorders in psychology and begged for hospitalization when life was too much for her to handle.  Throughout her "roller coaster" lifestyle, she managed to form lifetime friendships and marry a man who provides stabilization and hope for Elizabeth.  She earned a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake in the Texas Medical Center.  She has worked for many hospitals and mental health organizations such as NAMI and flower shops. Today, she and her husband are raising a therapy dog and enjoy gardening, reading and going on double dates with their friends to the movies, bowling and dinner gatherings.
