Allison Rodgers Schmitt is a four-time Olympian and ten-time Olympic medalist who specializes in freestyle swimming. Since her Olympic debut in 2008, she has earned medals at every Games through 2020, including three golds at the 2012 London Olympics—where she set an Olympic record in the 200-meter freestyle and helped set a world record in the 4×100-meter medley relay. Schmitt has served as captain of the U.S. Olympic swim team twice, a rare honor, and has accumulated a total of 25 medals across major international competitions. A standout collegiate athlete, she was a four-time NCAA champion and helped lead the University of Georgia Bulldogs to a national title in 2013. Schmitt was named SwimSwam’s Female Swimmer of the Year in 2012.
