Speaker Bio
Sir Billy Dorsey, Jr. is an award-winning music producer, songwriter, Royal Knight, and philanthropist who overcame homelessness to find success in the entertainment industry. Having signed his first recording contract with his group Serenity at the age of 19 after being discovered while attending Louisiana Tech University, he soon thereafter found himself homeless on the streets of 5th Ward, a gang and drug- infested neighborhood in Houston, TX by the age of 21 when the contract was terminated. Sleeping on cardboard boxes and eating out of trash cans to survive, Sir Billy was determined to achieve his dream of creating music that touches the world by any means necessary.

He overcame the streets and reclaimed his dream, ultimately being discovered by Jonathan J.R. Rotem (Beluga Heights/Warner Bros - Sean Kingston, Jason DeRulo) online, and ending up in Beverly Hills, writing songs with J.R. for stars such as Nicki Minaj, TI, Day26, and B.o.B. It was through the referral of Nick Velo, J.R.'s A&R at Beluga Heights, that Billy was introduced to Lecrae Moore of Reach Records fame, and through this creative collaboration, Sir Billy wrote and produced songs (alongside his team The Bridge Life) on a series of albums that topped the Christian, Gospel, Hip Hop, and Independent Billboard Album Charts, three of which went on to win a Grammy, two Dove Awards, and two Stellar Awards. Billy has since become an internationally acclaimed public speaker, published author (In the Right Seat, pub. 2020), life coach, and philanthropist, with strategic partnerships with multiple major charities that have raised millions of dollars for causes such as homelessness, mental health awareness, global Bible literacy, and more. He is the eldest son of Apostle Billy L. Dorsey, Sr. (ret. U.S. Air Force) and Pastor Patricia Dorsey, the proud husband of Monica Dorsey (the middle daughter of Gospel legend Beau Williams), and the father of four daughters, Ashia (24), Taylor (18), Chloe Marie (13), and Reyna (4)
