Rhonda Lee is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and author of the book, “For the Love of Bipolar”,
published in March 2014. She is a federal government employee and volunteers her time with the
National Alliance on Mental Illness since attending the NAMI Education Program, Family-to-Family in
2013. Rhonda is a trained NAMI Family Support Group facilitator, and NAMI Family-to-Family teacher.
She also presents NAMI Sharing Hope, a program developed to build partnerships, increase mental
health awareness and understanding within African American communities and organizations. She
became a board member of NAMI New Orleans in 2013 and rejoined in January 2019.
Rhonda does outreach and participate with NAMI affiliates throughout the area at health fairs and
community events in supporting families and demystifying mental illness in a transparent way. She is
passionate about increasing mental health awareness within diverse communities. Her family member
was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the early 1980’s. Rhonda is married with two adult sons, two
grandsons and enjoys family time, sports and traveling.
