She is a Certified Peer Specialist and is very involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) serving as Board President of the Gwinnett county affiliate and National Support Group Trainer, where she empowers communities through training, education, and support rooted in compassion and cultural awareness. Her recovery journey and professional impact are featured in the bestselling book, You Are Not Alone: The NAMI Guide to Navigating Mental Health, affirming her voice as a national thought leader in peer-led recovery and wellness.

Tera is also the founder of Sacred Ground Wellness, where she coaches individuals and organizations on navigating life transitions, building emotionally healthy environments, and creating inclusive recovery spaces for diverse populations. She specializes in training peers, professionals, and program leaders in the integration of strengths-based practices, lived experience leadership, and whole-person care.
