First elected to City Council in 2014, Linnea Miller has been actively engaged in Suwanee since moving to the city 26 years ago from her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Committed to serving her Suwanee constituents and the region, Linnea has participated in advanced leadership and governance programs including: the Leadership Gwinnett (Class of 2016), the Knox Municipal Leadership Institute (Class of 2017) sponsored by the UGA/Carl Vinson Institute of Government and GMA, Regional Leadership Institute (Class of 2018) and the Georgia Municipal Association where she earned a Certificate of Excellence for 120+ hours of advanced training. Linnea serves on GMA’s Legislative Policy Committee and on the Board of Directors for Georgia Cities Solutions.
Miller has been a leading figure in creating Suwanee's reputation for being an innovative, cutting-edge community that is attractive to families and business. She was one of the founding members of Suwanee's Public Art Commission and served as its chairman in 2012, during which the City's nationally renowned Sculp Tour was initiated. In addition, she serves as an ambassador for public art initiatives in Georgia, and serves on the boards of Create Gwinnett and the Suwanee Arts Center. She is a longtime member of the school council for North Gwinnett High School. She is a small business owner of the consulting firm, Long Table, LLC.
Connecting people to people, and people to their place is a passion for Linnea. She values inclusive, vibrant cultures and spends personal time enjoying Suwanee’s parks, events and activities with her husband, four children and three grandchildren.
