Speaker Bio
Hello! I’m Monique Thomas. I’ve been married to my best friend, Royce, for 29 years—and we’ve been a team for 37. We’re proud parents of three, sharing our youngest, and delighted grandparents to five. My dedication to mental health advocacy is deeply personal. When our youngest faced a crisis, I received invaluable support through NAMI’s Family Support Group—just as my mother once did in Indianapolis for my sister when I was a teenager. That experience showed me the power of community and what it can do for you, and I knew I wanted to give back. Today, I serve as a certified Family-to-Family co-facilitator at Elevate in Westerville. I’m committed to fostering a warm, empathetic space where families can share their experiences, laugh or cry if needed, draw strength from one another, and above all, nurture hope. Mental health is a vital aspect of overall health, and no one should navigate its challenges alone. There will be hills and valleys in the journey with our loved ones, but I always like to say it is good to stay CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC through that journey.
